Transport and parking at Hunter Street Eye Specialists

Metered parking is available on Hunter Street and a small section along Pitt Street off Hunter Street.

Secure paid parking is also available at Justice Precinct Car Park entry access is via Hunter Street opposite our building. This incurs a cost of approximately $3 per hour or a maximum $25 full day parking fee.

Alternatively, Parramatta Westfield Shopping Centre parking offers the first 2 hours free and the first 4 hours free if you park using the Westfield+ App. Should you choose to park at Westfield, enter via Aird St as we are a short 10-minute stroll down from the Aird St. exit.

Drop Off Zone: You can be driven to the door as we offer a drop off area at the main entrance.

HUNTER STREET EYE SPECIALISTS’ TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

*Online Forms: While we endeavor to provide timely assistance, we strongly advise against using our online forms for bookings or urgent enquiries related to serious medical or eye conditions. Although our forms are monitored, they are not designed for addressing urgent matters. We advise that no bookings or requests for urgent or serious medical or eye condition queries are made on our website. Our team is dedicated to providing timely assistance, however forms though monitored are not intended for use when a condition of an urgent matter.

Our account is actively monitored on weekdays from 9 AM to 4 PM. For more immediate assistance, we recommend contacting our team directly at 02 9635 0663 to speak with one of our helpful representatives. Our phone lines operate Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 4:45 PM.

*Consultation Fees:
A. A consultation fee is payable for every visit to our ophthalmology practice.
B. The consultation fee covers a single assessment and discussion of your eye health concerns with our ophthalmologist. It excludes tests, procedures, and other non-related fees.

*Procedure Fees:
A. Each surgical procedure or treatment incurs separate fees.
B. All fees and quotes for procedures refers to unilateral or one eye only
C. Procedure fees cover the cost of materials, equipment, and professional expertise required to perform the procedure accurately.
D. Excludes Hospital, Disposables, Anaesthetists, Hospital Assistant or Pharmacy fees
E. Procedure fees exclude fees related to post-operative reviews, follow-ups, and additional tests.
F. Post-operative reviews, follow-ups, and additional tests may incur separate charges as determined by the ophthalmologist based on your ongoing care needs.

*Test Fees:
A. Each diagnostic test or procedure incurs separate fees.
B. Test fees cover the cost of materials, equipment, and professional expertise required to perform the test accurately.
C. The necessity of tests will be determined by the ophthalmologist based on your specific eye health needs.

*Payment:
A. Payment for consultation fees and any applicable test fees is due at the time of service.
B. We accept cash, credit/debit cards, excluding Diners and AMEX.
C. Failure to make payment at the time of service may result in additional administrative charges.

*Insurance:
A. Health insurance will usually not cover any in-room treatments/procedures, consultations, and tests. Please enquire directly with your health fund provider for more details.
B. Patients are responsible for any deductibles, co-payments, or non-covered services as determined by their insurance plan.

*Fee Schedule:
A. Our fee schedule for consultation and test fees are available upon request.
B. We reserve the right to adjust our fee schedule at any time, with notice provided to patients when possible.

*Medicare Rebate:
A. We endeavour to send your claim directly to Medicare after full payment is received. It is the patient’s responsibility to claim directly from Medicare for their rebate should the online claiming portal/system fail.
B. It is the patient's responsibility to ensure Medicare details, referrals are up to date and current.
C. Medicare rebates only apply to some tests, procedures, and consultations. Please inquire with the clinical team to determine if the test you are having is Medicare rebatable or not.
D. All our fees will incur a GAP.
E. Should you not have a current and valid referral from your GP or Optometrist you will not receive Medicare rebate

*Cancellation Policy:
A. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please notify us at your earliest convenience and preferably at least 72 hours in advance.
B. Failure to provide sufficient notice may result in a cancellation fee.

*Financial Assistance:
A. We understand that medical expenses can be a burden for some patients.
B. Financial assistance or payment plans may be available for qualifying patients. We are not affiliated with financial providers; however, we can provide you with a list to help you research the most appropriate path for you to take. Please consult your financial adviser before using any financial services.

* Refunds:
A. Refunds for services rendered are considered on a case-by-case basis and are subject to our discretion.
B. Refunds, if approved, will be processed according to our standard refund policy.

*Complimentary Laser Vision Correction Assessment
A. We offer complimentary pre-assessment appointments to help patients assess suitability specifically for laser vision correction only.
B. All patients planning to undergo vision correction procedures abroad or who have recently undergone eye surgery overseas are not eligible for the complimentary consultation.
C. This consultation specifically aims to assess suitability for laser vision correction.
D. Should patients seek assessment for any other procedures or eye conditions, standard consultation fees and charges for tests will apply.
E. By booking a Complimentary Laser Assessment, all patients agree to our Terms and Conditions. Please review them carefully.

*Appointment Scheduling and Wait Times:
A. We endeavour to keep your scheduled appointment time. Our team will strive to minimise wait times; however, please understand that unforeseen circumstances may cause delays. We appreciate your patience and understanding, as we may need to attend to unscheduled urgent patients, which may delay appointments.
B. Please expect to be in clinic for approximately 1.5 to 2 Hours – this will be more or less depending on complexity of each patient.
C. We require all patients arrange appointments we do not allow walk ins. Appointments can be scheduled by contacting our office during regular business hours Monday to Friday between 8:30AM and 4:45PM. We recommend booking appointments in advance to secure your preferred time slot.
D. The doctor’s consulting times and dates are non-flexible. We ask for your understanding and cooperation in adhering to the scheduled appointments.
E. Reminders for appointment times will be sent vis SMS to your preferred mobile number

*Communication Preferences:
A. Patients understand and accept that we communicate via SMS, email, and phone as methods of contact for appointment reminders, test results, and other communications.
B. We respect your privacy and by agreeing to our terms and conditions you consent Hunter Street Eye Specialists Team, Doctor’s, and Clinical Staff in communicating any information through to your referrer and other allied health professional related to your health and eye condition.

*Consent for treatment
A. By scheduling an appointment with our practice, you acknowledge and consent to the proposed treatment plan, including procedures, tests, and follow-up care recommended by our ophthalmologist. You understand there are risks, benefits, and alternatives associated with the treatment, and you agree to actively participate in decision-making regarding your eye health.
B. The doctors will verbally provide informed consent will be provided for all procedures, they will discuss potential risks, benefits, and alternatives. Should you require a written copy please ask our friendly Clinical Team to provide this to you.

*Continuity of Care
A. Hunter Street Eye Specialists staff, clinical team and Doctors are committed to providing continuity of care to all patients. This includes scheduling follow-up appointments as recommended by the ophthalmologist, coordinating with other healthcare providers as necessary, and maintaining accurate medical records to ensure seamless transitions between visits. We encourage patients to adhere to their recommended care plans to optimise their eye health outcomes.

*Liability Limitations
A. Hunter Street Eye Specialists staff, clinical team and Doctors strives to provide high-quality care, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes or be held liable for any unforeseen complications or adverse effects arising from treatment. By receiving services from our clinic, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with medical interventions and agree that our liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.

*Children and Minors
A. Children and minors receiving services from Hunter Street Eye Specialists must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who can provide consent for treatment on their behalf. We require parental involvement in decision-making regarding their child's eye health and treatment options. Our practice reserves the right to refuse treatment if parental consent cannot be obtained or if it is deemed not in the best interest of the child.
