Unsuitable for Laser Vision Correction? Its not the end of the road…
Though most people are suitable for LASIK or PRK a small group of people will not be suitable for laser vision correction. For these people it isn’t the end of the road – there are other options. One option is Lens Exchange, where the lens behind the coloured part of the eye is replaced with an intraocular lens. Intraocular Lenses can correct short sightedness (myopia), long-sightedness (hypermetropia) and also astigmatism, in fact it can correct much higher ranges for all types of correction than any type of laser vision correction. As with any type of procedure a full eye health assessment is necessary to ascertain suitability.
