Correcting Astigmatism
Astigmatism is a cornea that is steeper in one meridian as opposed to the other, so instead of being shaped like half a basket ball it is more like a football – giving rise to blurred vision and ghosting around images. Eye Surgeons now have the ability to correct astigmatism not only with Laser Eye Surgery but advances in technology has enabled them to correct Astigmatism when performing Cataract surgery through the use of Toric Intra Ocular Lens implants.
