Presbyopia at its most basic is the aging of the crystalline lens inside the eye. It gradually reduces the ability of eyes to focus when doing near tasks, like reading, using the computer, sewing and so on. There are a numerous corrective options, reading glasses, contact lenses, intraocular lens implantation and laser eye surgery, just to name a few. Advances in surgical options and techniques, have given both Physician and Patient more choice. Blended or Monovision through laser eye treatment or lens implantation is one of the many ways to treat presbyopia. Intraocular lens design has gone from leaps and bounds in its ability to allow patients to perform near tasks without the need for glasses or contact lens.
