Visual Freedom
Laser Vision Correction can treat most types of refractive errors and finding out if you are suitable is easy! Come and see our friendly Refractive Eye Specialists to assess suitability.
Laser Vision Correction procedures can correct Myopia (Short-Sightedness), Hyperopia (Long-Sightedness), Astigmatism or a combination of them
Eligibility for the procedure will depend on;
- Amount of correction you require (Strength of your prescription)
- Stability of your prescription
- Your visual goals – What are your expectations
- The architecture of your eye, in particular the thickness of the cornea
- The health of your cornea
- Your overall health
Essentially laser vision correction reshapes your cornea, the stronger your prescription the more “correction” and reshaping required on the cornea, hence the more “space” or tissue you require.
Not everyone’s goal is to get to zero prescription – some depending on their job or lifestyle will opt to remain for example slightly short-sighted hence expectation & goal will also influence suitability criteria. Other just want their prescription to be reduced rather than fully corrected.
The criteria for eligibility like the procedure we offer is individual and discussing directly with your refractive consultant and Eye Surgeon.
At Hunter Street Eye Specialists, we don’t believe in a one size fits all approach every patient is an individual with different expectations, goals and needs – we believe that the best first step is to come in for an obligation free Laser Vision Correction Suitability Assessment.
